Female Orphan School

• Constructed only 25 years after the First Fleet arrived in Australia.
• The foundation stone of the Female Orphan School was laid by Governor Macquarie on 24th September 1813.
• It was the first purpose-built charitable institution in Australia, and is Australia's oldest three-storey masonry building.
